EDEN ROCK HOTEL
The Eden Rock lies on a rocky promontory surrounded by a coral reef and beautiful turquoise blue sea.
We are lucky enough to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery looking over the ocean - plus dazzling
white beaches looking south onto the island of St Barth.
Built fifty years ago by an adventurer and famous aviator named Remy De Haenen, the property was bought
in 1995 by an English couple, David and Jane Matthews, who have refurbished and improved the facilities
over the years and have created an extraordinarily intimate resort - a kind of tropical country house.
This Relais & Chateaux beachfront property comprises of 29 highly individual accommodations; The Big Beach House, Heavenly Suites, Diamond Suites, Premium Suites, Classic Suites, Cottages and Cabins.
All our accommodation has the amenity associated with a luxury hotel and including, dvd players, flat
screen television, satellite television, high speed internet, wifi, hair dryers and, for the non techies,
comfortable transats and big soft beach towels sited on private terraces and offering utter relaxation…
Eden Rock Accommodation:
- Big Beach House: the perfect beach house to enjoy with family and friends. Frangipani is a 3
bedroomed house located on the beach, with a walled garden, based around a private pool, and
large open terraces with spectacular views of the ocean.
- Diamond: the Howard Hughes Loft Suite sits atop the iconic main house, with three terraces and
a 360 degree view of the bay. Waterlily house sits on the beachfront, infinity pool overlooking the
ocean and a spa pool on the terrace. Surrounding gardens offer privacy while inches from the sea.
- Heavenly Beach Houses: our newest accommodations, 1 & 2 bedroomed split level houses on our
private beach. The 1 bedroom Orchid house, boasts a large roof terrace, and ground floor living
space leading out over the deck onto the beach. Jasmine & Ixora neighbouring 2 bed & 2 bathroom
houses have terraces on both levels and all three have a jacuzzi on the rear terrace. Each is
individually designed and equipped to the highest level.
- Premium Suites: our more individual suites - situated around the rock and on the beach with large
terraces and stunning views. Garbo an opulent Hollywood tribute perched over the reef – our most
romantic room. Michael’s on the beach with jacuzzi and day bed, and Harbour House a beautiful
combination of rich Caribbean colours, with sea view terrace and private garden with plunge pool.
Each is different from the other yet all are linked by their spirit which is lavish and generous.
- Classic Suites: the backbone of the Eden Rock, some are situated on the rock with fabulous views and
others on the beach with direct access to the sand & sea. All the suites are individually decorated
with fine fabrics, antique furniture and original paintings - they all have private terraces.
- Our Cottages: have a Caribbean charm and are situated close to the sea with partially covered
terraces for relaxation.
- Our Cabins: are small and cosy, perfect for teenagers or young couples. They are compact, charming
and great fun.
The Eden Rock facilities include:
- Two restaurants and bars, the On-The-Rocks Restaurant & The Tapas Bar, open for dinner on top of
the rock with breath taking views of the reef - and the Sand Bar for intimate lunches with feet in the
sand. A splendid breakfast, buffet style with champagne is included in the room rates.
- A fully serviced, white sandy beach with teak loungers, big soft towels, umbrellas and iPods for
complete relaxation.
- Watersports: kayaks, snorkeling equipment and floats available for complimentary use around the
Eden Rock reef, Hobie cats and windsurfing for hire on the beach, boat trips, diving and sailing are
available on request.
- The Rockshop: capturing the essence of its unique surroundings, inspired by sunshine and sea, the
Rockshop pays tribute to the best fashion from around the world.
- Jane’s Gallery, perfectly positioned alongside the buzz of The Sand Bar with a view of the ocean, acts
not only as a commercial art gallery but as a studio where guests and visitors can turn their hand to
painting in any material from oil to watercolour.
- 24 hour front desk, for help with flights, restaurant bookings, room service, night butler, faxes,
shopping…
- High speed internet access at reception on both pc & mac
- Wellbeing: massages and other beauty treatments available on guests private terraces or in the new wellbeing centre, along with fitness and workout equipment.
